The main cast from Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai.
I finally received my contact lenses yesterday, at the optici8an. Initially, I planned to first try on the contact lenses for about a hour. This was because I thought I would only need an hour to learn how to wear on the lenses, after which I would be able to go for mass at 6pm.
I didn't know that trying on the contact lenses was so agonizing.
One of the opticians was very patient, she gave me the lenses and taught me how to put it on. While I was struggling, she tried to give me tips on how to put it on properly. But I couldn't fit the bloody thing on my pupil because my eye was too damn small, and I had to use my fingers to really stretch the skin at my eyes to fit the stupid thing in. I hate my small teeny eyes.
My eyes were so aggravated by the constant pulling and tugging that they became SUPER red and started to tear up badly. So I had to use tissue paper which was kindly provided by the optician to blot away my tears. I looked like I was watching a sappy drama or something, sniffling away at the seat. Other customers were staring at me like I was an exhibit at the zoo. Why don't YOU try to put on lenses for the first time and see if you're a professional, kind sirs?!
The stupid contact lens just couldn't stick onto my pupil and both my eyes were streaming with tears and glowed red! My dad and sister were accompanying me, and they kept on telling me to calm down and stick it in my eye properly. It was a pitying sight to see myself struggling with a piece of plastic.
There was a group of teenage guys next to me that were buyinng contact lens as well. But they had experience in wearing the lenses, and I could hear them talking about my stupidity in Mandarin. But they were quite kind to give me some pointers on how to put it on and patiently translate it into English for me. I think it was because I was quite frustrated with trying the lens on and it showed on my face; they probably thought I'd turn deranged or something if they spoke to me in Mandarin and I couldn't understand their pointers.
I finally managed to put the lenses on at exactly 6pm. What the hell! I couldn't even reach the church in time for mass! But the lenses were quite marvellous. xD Everything looked crystal clear to me, although the lenses felt uncomfortable in my eyes. At least now, I won't have to squint and blink to look at faraway objects.; or wave back to people who waved at me, but not being able to identify who they are.
